High-relief spoke geometry means the spoke faces are milled to different heights across their width, creating shadow lines and visual depth that change as the wheel rotates. The spoke sections appear thicker from certain angles and thinner from others, giving the EVO-5R a dynamic quality that flat-face designs do not exhibit. This is achieved through additional machining passes on the CNC equipment at Vossen's Miami facility, making each EVO-5R more material-intensive to produce than its simpler counterparts in the EVO-R series.

The spoke cross-section of the EVO-5R tapers from a wide, flat root at the hub to a narrow, curved tip at the barrel edge. This taper creates the visual effect of spokes that are both substantial and elegant - appropriate for luxury saloons and grand touring cars where an overtly aggressive design would be inappropriate. The barrel depth and overall proportions are consistent across the 19- to 24-inch diameter range, maintaining visual balance at every size.

Standard finishes include Light Smoke, Gloss Black, Dark Smoke, and Brickell Bronze. The high-relief face geometry responds particularly well to Light Smoke and Dark Smoke transparent coatings, which reveal the machined aluminum beneath while adding tonal variation across the spoke surfaces. All finishes are applied at Vossen's Miami facility.
