HRE Performance Wheels HX101 Design and Engineering: Load-Distribution Multi-Spoke Center on CRBN® Barrel

The HX101 center is machined from a precision-forged 6061-T6 aluminum billet to a multi-spoke profile that carries wheel loads across a greater number of parallel structural paths than a conventional 5- or 8-spoke design. Each spoke has a cambered cross-section — machined wider at the hub flange and tapering progressively toward the rim junction — so that bending forces from the tire contact patch during cornering and sustained braking are distributed across the spoke width rather than concentrated at the spoke root. This geometry has been validated across GT-class circuit applications, including McLaren GT3 programme builds running Series HX1 hardware. HRE's CRBN® barrel attaches to the forged center via aerospace-specification titanium fasteners; Center Lock is available for endurance-format events requiring rapid wheel changes. A production identification chip embedded in each barrel enables authentication and aftersales access throughout the wheel's service life.

The CRBN® barrel on the HX101 is supplied in Frozen (satin) or Gloss clear coat. On the multi-spoke HX101, shadow lines cast by spoke faces change character between treatments: Frozen delivers a low-contrast surface where spoke shadows read as tonal variation rather than bright reflection, while Gloss amplifies the woven carbon pattern and creates sharp contrast against the spoke faces. The forged center accepts HRE's full custom colour programme — brushed, polished, anodised, or painted to customer specification.
