Where Flow-Forming Meets Counter-Pressure Casting

The CH is produced using BBS's counter-pressure casting process, followed by flow-forming of the rim area. This is the same technology the brand introduced to the aftermarket in 1996 and has refined over decades of motorsport and OEM supply. During flow-forming, the cast blank is heated and rolled under high pressure, compacting the material and aligning its grain structure. This increases strength and stiffness while reducing weight, and it allows the CH to achieve a stiffness-to-weight ratio that a conventional cast wheel cannot approach. The wheel is also weight-optimised through FEM analysis, ensuring that material is placed where it is needed and removed where it is not. BBS develops this geometry in-house, and no replica producer has access to the tooling or the thermal treatment process.

The spokes are back-milled to remove unnecessary material, and the wheel includes a replaceable stainless-steel rim protector - a detail that protects the rim edge from kerb damage.
