RAYS 21C

The 21C carries the same design generation logic as the 21A — a direct visual reference to a classic RAYS competition wheel, reengineered from the ground up using modern forging technology. Where the 21A traces its geometry to the Gr.A mesh, the 21C inherits from the Gr.C platform that competed in JGTC and Super GT racing programmes.

Gr.C Competition Heritage

The Gr.C name was applied to the competition platform RAYS developed for the Japan Grand Touring Car Championship era — a racing context that demanded lightweight construction with spoke shapes designed to direct cooling airflow to brake components. The 21C preserves the multi-spoke geometry of that original competition design while replacing the racing-specific construction constraints with a forged monoblock platform that meets JWL+R Spec 2 road certification.

Dimple Design and Step Rim

Two surface details distinguish the 21C from other Volk Racing models at close range: the dimple-finished spoke surface, which applies a series of small radius depressions to the flat spoke face, and the step rim profile, which creates a visual step at the rim shelf transition. Both treatments add visual complexity without adding material mass, consistent with the weight-reduction philosophy carried through the entire 21 series.

Available Finishes

The 21C is offered in Dark Gunmetal/Rim DC (VC) — a dark metallic spoke tone with diamond-cut rim accent — and Bronze (Almite) (BR), the original RAYS competition color that appeared on the wheel's Gr.C predecessor in period racing.
