RAYS ZE40 Club Racer

The ZE40 Club Racer is the official competition wheel for the GR86/BRZ Cup — the one-make racing series that replaced the Toyota GAZOO Racing 86/BRZ Race programme. It succeeds the previous TOYOTA GAZOO RACING specification wheel for that series, updated for the GR86 and Subaru BRZ platforms that replaced the first-generation 86 and BRZ models.

One-Make Race Specification

Wheels homologated for one-make series must meet specific performance standards while remaining identical across all competing vehicles — no individual tuning, no specification variation between competitors. The ZE40 Club Racer is the single approved wheel for GR86/BRZ Cup use, which means the engineering decisions behind it — diameter, spoke structure, weight distribution, hub bore — were resolved against the specific chassis dynamics of the GR86 and BRZ rather than a general-purpose fitment target.

Knurling Rim Treatment

The rim flange of the ZE40 Club Racer carries a knurling finish — a precision-machined crosshatch pattern at the rim edge that improves tire bead grip retention under racing conditions. This is a technical detail applied to RAYS competition wheels when track use puts sustained lateral loads through the bead seat during cornering.

ZE40 Platform

The Club Racer inherits the ZE40 forged monoblock platform — the same construction basis used by the standard ZE40 and ZE40 M-SPEC road wheels. The 17" diameter and Diamond Silver (DS) finish are specified for the GR86/BRZ Cup homologation.
