The ADV5.2 M.V2 is produced as two separate forged components at ADV.1's Carson, California facility. The center disc, carrying the bridge-spoke geometry, is machined to final form and then paired with a step-lip outer barrel selected for the buyer's target concave depth. The barrel depth range available for the ADV5.2 M.V2 is deliberately greater than most five-spoke Advanced Series options because the target vehicle segment - low-slung supercars with wide rear wheel arches - benefits from the most aggressive dish available within safe load specifications.

ADV.1 ADV5.2 M.V2 Design and Engineering: Bridge Rib Function and Stepped Face Profile

The transverse bridge rib on each spoke of the ADV5.2 M.V2 is a structural member, not a decorative addition. Its primary function is to resist out-of-plane deflection along the spoke's lateral walls under brake torque reaction loading. A five-spoke disc with no cross-bracing between the arm walls can experience minor lateral deflection at the window pocket boundary during hard braking events, a movement that is imperceptible to the driver but accumulates as fatigue loading at the pocket perimeter radius. The bridge rib restrains this deflection by tying the two walls across the pocket at the point of highest shear stress, transferring the lateral load through the rib rather than accumulating it as stress at the pocket corner.

The proportions of the bridge rib - its height relative to spoke depth, its thickness, and its axial position along the spoke length - are determined through iterative finite element analysis at ADV.1's engineering department. The rib must be thick enough to carry its share of lateral load without buckling, and positioned axially so that it does not produce a stress concentration in the spoke wall at the rib attachment radius. The visible result of this engineering - a horizontal bar crossing each spoke window at approximately two-thirds spoke depth - is experienced first as a visual detail before its structural role is understood.

The stepped center face of the ADV5.2 M.V2 sits recessed behind the outer barrel by a margin greater than most five-spoke designs in the Advanced Series. This step relationship is not a fixed dimension: it is calibrated per vehicle order based on the buyer's caliper projection depth and fender clearance. The stepped face creates a second depth plane behind the outer rim shoulder, so the wheel reads with three distinct depth layers from the front: the outer rim face, the spoke surface, and the recessed center face with bridge ribs.
