BBS RG-F - The Flow-Formed Monoblock Built for Lightweight Sports Cars
The Cross-Spoke Face That Weighs Almost Nothing
Lightweight sports cars do not need heavy wheels. They need wheels that disappear beneath the car and let the chassis do the talking. The BBS RG-F was designed around exactly that brief: a ten cross-spoke face that reads as purposeful without overwhelming the vehicle, and a weight that starts at just 4.2 kg. It is the wheel that BBS recommends for cars like the Honda Civic Type R and the Mazda MX-5, and it has remained in the catalogue because it was resolved correctly the first time.
Where Flow-Forming Meets Lightweight Construction
The RG-F sits within the BBS Forged Line - the brand's flagship platform, produced at BBS Japan using a multi-stage flow-forming process. Each wheel begins as a billet of 6000-series aluminium, which is heated and flow-formed under extreme pressure to create a dense, fine-grained metal structure. The RG-F is then back-milled to remove material that is not required for strength, reducing weight without compromising structural integrity. The result is a one-piece wheel that weighs as little as 4.2 kg in its lightest configuration - a figure that directly improves acceleration, braking, and steering response. BBS develops this geometry in-house, and no replica producer has access to the tooling.
The RG-F Design
The RG-F's defining feature is its ten cross-spoke pattern - a design that reflects the brand's racing heritage while remaining appropriate for the road. The spokes are arranged to create a sense of motion even when the wheel is stationary, and the face is visually open without being busy. It is a design that suits compact sports cars where the wheel is expected to perform without drawing attention to itself - a Honda Civic Type R (FK8), a Mazda MX-5 (ND), or a Toyota 86. The wheel is available in Silver, Blue Black diamond-cut, Diamond Black, and Gold finishes, allowing it to be specified to the character of the vehicle.
For Lightweight Sports Cars That Reward Minimal Mass
The BBS RG-F suits owners of Honda Civic Type R (FK8), Mazda MX-5 (ND), and Toyota 86 - cars where reducing unsprung mass has a direct effect on handling and driver engagement. Every specification is validated against the platform before production begins. Reach us to begin your fitment review.

BBS is the original pioneer of the performance wheel — founded in 1970 in Schiltach, Germany, with BBS Japan established in 1983. The brand built its reputation on a single conviction: that motorsport engineering should reach the road, not remain locked in the paddock. That conviction is embodied most clearly in BBS Flow Forming technology — the process that defines the brand's Performance Line and brings racing-derived engineering to a broad range of luxury and performance vehicles.
Hodoor sources BBS wheels through trusted dealer channels and verifies the correct fitment, finish and delivery options before quoting.
